Scenario

It follows a struggling high school heavy metal band that uses the town’s sudden interest in the occult to start a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a strange series of events triggers a witch hunt that brings them back.

This show captured 1989, the Satanic panic, and the style of all those old supernatural horror movies perfectly

I suspect that when the network saw it, they had them edit out a few smaller scenes that could have revealed what a possible ending was, so they could make a second season.

But having lived through that period, I can say that they did very well

Although it’s not a comedy, it made me laugh with all the references to other movies in the genre, which kind of reminded me of Stranger Things, but they limited the scares, gore, nudity, and ultraviolence and still put on a good show.

Hats off to the producers, directors, and writers

PS: The cast is good and this is Brice Campbell’s second best role after Bubba Ho Tep.
