It follows a Mexican-American family who have recently lost touch with each other and their roots as they embark on an epic journey that immediately goes hilariously awry. George Lopez was originally set to play Gil and then Alejandro, but ultimately dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Cheech Marin & Alexander Alayon Jr. respectively.
