James Gunn had pitched “CREATURE COMMANDOS”; before he took over DC
Follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn then greenlit the project himself when he became CEO of DC Studios. Series writer and creator James Gunn appears in the opening credits with a laptop writing the script.
Appeared in AniMate’s Crazy Comic: The Return of the King (of the Hill) (2023)
. Based on the trailer for this series, I was very excited to see DC have a bunch of monsters on one team. After watching two episodes, I feel quite confused, far too rushed when I don’t get a clear story.
What’s next, one episode per season?
There is action, but some of the character voices seem quite dull. I’m not happy with 7 episodes in one season. This needs to be 14-24 for one season.
I hope they make season 2 better and I’ll keep watching this show
I like the idea of a team, but I want to get a better understanding so I can feel connected to the characters, but not feel rushed and lost in the show. Reading comics is one thing, but the biggest problem with DC is they don’t let you enjoy the characters enough to understand what they’re going through in the series or the movies. James Gunn, make me love this show and the characters more and stop rushing a project that could be fantastic.
