Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend Francis Morales (24), against the wishes of the respective family members. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s lifestyle and expresses her feelings through violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into a new, exciting life together. Their bliss is cut short, however, when a freak accident leaves Francis physically and mentally scarred.
