Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet, which causes them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “The Skeleton Team” and even more stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neal’s younger siblings is the same one the Chewbacca family watches in the infamous holiday special of Star Wars (1978).
HOWEVER… to be fair, Skeleton Team is pretty good
Like most children of the 80s, I have fond memories of Goofballs, but I’d be lying if I said this was the direction I desperately wanted to see new Star Wars content go. I mean, after the disappointment of the sequel trilogy and many others – all of Disney’s live-action content with the exception of Andorra, Rogue One and the first two seasons of Mando, I’d rate between mediocre and bad – I’m just thirsty good mature, epic Star Wars content. Give me an “Andorra”-style show set in the Old Republic with Jedi, Sith, and Nick Gillard as stunt coordinator for world sword fights.
It’s basically Star Wars Goonies, a neat little story about a group of kids going on adventures in the Star Wars universe
It is not offensive and not poorly made; not obviously cheap, like “The Book of Boba Fett”; not bodyless like the 3rd season of “Mando”; not destroying the tradition, like the sequels and “Kenobi”; not deaf to intonations, like the Acolyte. Cheers? The script so far (starting with episode 2) is decent: the effects, costumes and locations look great: there is a certain charm to it all.
So far everything is fine
I assume that this, like Andor, is a passion project for its creators and was considered a secondary side project by the bosses, who therefore did not bother to interfere, which is a blessing these days at Lucasfilm. 7.5/10..
